The Emergence series of tapestries were woven between 2009 and 2016. Two of them were commissions (VI and VII) and the rest are also in private collections.
These works came from my life in the desert southwest. The petroglyph form is one similar to those I saw on the rocks around a place I lived in 2008-2010 which was in the middle of a petroglyph preserve in northern New Mexico. I love the spiral motif and the suggestion of change that happens gradually. I also loved hunting for petroglyphs when I lived in that house!
